Permitted uses
Rehabilitation of the wetland ecosystem, with pump sheds, wells and produce storage as ancillary uses.
Prohibited uses
Agriculture and clay extraction, which are phased out; existing structures are removed, foundations included.
Conditional uses
Structures built with organic materials, and roads and utilities that do not obstruct natural drainage.
Building rules
What to check
A Kigali wetland master plan zone. Sites stay fenceless, and direct stormwater and wastewater discharge is prohibited.
