Permitted uses
Non-polluting light manufacturing, assembly, workshops, storage, warehousing and specified processing activities; the source appendix gives the full list.
Prohibited uses
Unrelated residential uses and major infrastructure.
Conditional uses
Freight yards, certain production plants, education and incubators, wastewater treatment, religious facilities, supporting housing, shops and hospitality.
Building rules
What to check
I1 is not permission for every factory. Check the activity against the industry appendix and applicable environmental requirements.

Permitted uses
Non-polluting industry: agro-processing, industrial bakeries, food processing with listed exceptions, light manufacturing and assembly, wholesale and warehousing.
Prohibited uses
Residential uses and major infrastructure installations.
Conditional uses
Railroad and trucking yards, concrete or stone products, grain milling, wastewater treatment, worker accommodation, groceries, restaurants and commercial uses.
Building rules
What to check
Light industries need a 50 m buffer from housing, and a land subdivision plan should be approved first. Retail warehouses operate as one entity, with no subletting.
