The headline
Rwanda's economy grew 10% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same quarter of 2025, the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) reported on 16 June. GDP at current prices was Frw 6,346 billion.
By sector
- Industry grew 13% and added 3.1 percentage points to growth: mining and quarrying up 20%, manufacturing up 15% and construction up 11%.
- Services grew 7% and added 3.9 points.
- Agriculture grew 8% and added 1.6 points.
Services made up 52% of GDP, industry 24%, agriculture 19% and net indirect taxes 5%.
What it means for property
Construction has now grown faster than 10% for three quarters running: 17% at the end of 2025, 11% here, and 24% in the second quarter. Growth of this kind comes with rising prices too, which is why the central bank kept raising its rate. Follow recorded land prices on the Rwanda Housing Index.
