The headline

Rwanda's economy grew 9.4% in 2025, the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) reported in March 2026. Growth picked up through the year: 6.5% in the first quarter, 7.8% in the second, 11.8% in the third and 11.2% in the fourth.

The fourth quarter

  • Industry grew 16%, with mining and quarrying up 44%, construction up 17% and manufacturing up 11%.
  • Agriculture and services each grew 8%.

The whole year

Over 2025, industry grew 11%, services 9% and agriculture 7%. Construction grew 11%, mining 17% and manufacturing 10%. GDP at current prices reached Frw 23,387 billion.

What it means for property

Construction ended 2025 growing faster than the economy, and it kept that pace into 2026: up 11% in the first quarter and 24% in the second. More building means more supply on the way and more demand for materials, labour and serviced land. Follow recorded land prices district by district on the Rwanda Housing Index.
